Year 9 Options 2024

On Thursday 21st March, between 5pm and 8pm, we will be holding our Year 9 Options Evening which aims to provide you with the opportunity to meet with all of your child’s subject teachers as well as those whom they haven’t had contact with in Key Stage 3. This will be an opportunity for you and your child to discuss subject content.

At the start of the evening Mr Preston, Headteacher, will hold a short presentation at the start of the evening to set the scene and to ensure that all students are able to make fully informed decisions about the GCSE options available for them to study in Year 10.

After this your child will have a map indicating where all the subjects are situated as they will not necessarily be in their teaching rooms.

Year 9 Option Timeline

• Parents Evening - Thursday 11th January 2024
• Year 9 Options assembly 1 - Wednesday 17th January 2024
• Year 9 Options assembly 2 – Wednesday 24th January 2024
• On Thursday 22nd February and Friday 23rd February, students will have an opportunity to access computer rooms where they can access Unifrog to research and inform them of career paths as well as ensuring that they can access their webcode for their option choices.
• Recommendations with WEBCODE sent home week of 4th March
• Online Options Booklet available for parents/students – Wednesday 6th March
• Online Subject specific powerpoints available for parents/students – Wednesday 6th March
• Online Booking System open for students and parents to access Wednesday 20th March
• Options Evening for Parents and Students - Thursday 21st March
• Options online form deadline - Wednesday 27th March
• Opportunities for Virtual Workshops on a range of careers have been shared with students
