At Holcombe Grammar School we are committed to ensuring that all pupils with medical conditions, whether short-term or chronic, are fully supported so they can access a complete education and remain safe at school.
We work closely with parents, healthcare professionals, and staff to provide a safe, inclusive, and caring environment.
Please use the links below to download our official policies and the forms required to request medical support or medication administration during the school day.
To maintain a safe environment for all children, we adhere to strict guidelines regarding medication. We can administer both prescription and some over-the-counter medications provided by parents/carers (e.g. paracetamol and antihistamine), provided the following conditions are met:
If your child has a long-term medical condition such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, or severe allergies (anaphylaxis) we require you to complete an Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP) and provide an allergy/asthma/diabetes care plan along with the medication.
This plan details exactly what support your child needs, their triggers, what to do in an emergency, and who is responsible for their care. If your child is diagnosed with a new condition, please contact our medical lead as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, need to update your child’s medical details, or want to discuss an Individual Healthcare Plan, please contact our designated team:
