MP Visit

On Friday 30th January 2026, Tristan Osborne (MP for Chatham and Aylesford) visited Holcombe.

For nearly 3 hours, Tristan engaged in discussion with many of our students.

  • He attended an A Level Politics lesson where our Year 12 and Year 13 Politics students had the opportunity to ask his views on a range of local and national issues.
  • He later attended a session for some of our students who are interested in local and national campaigning to speak with him about this.
  • He then met separately with a smaller group of 6th formers to discuss further issues, and advised how interested students can try to obtain work experience in Parliament if they wish.

He also spent some time with Mr Preston talking about plans that we have to continue to improve the school and how he can perhaps support us moving forwards.

We are very conscious that Tristan has hundreds of requests from schools and other organisations to visit, and we are hugely grateful that he gave up some time to come and meet with our students who I know found his sessions really interesting and informative.
