A-Level Results Day 2026

Students at Holcombe Grammar School have been picking up their excellent A Level grades this morning.

Today’s results highlight how hard students have worked throughout their sixth form studies and mark the beginning of exciting new ventures as they prepare for the next stage of their journeys.

Holcombe Grammar School is pleased to report once again that over 40% of A Level grades were A*/A or B with the vast majority of students making positive progress over their two years of sixth form.

The school saw particular success in subjects including media, business, economics, law, mathematics and religious studies. Additionally, over 30% of students achieved an A* or A in chemistry and mathematics and over 70% secured and A or A* in The Extended Project.

Alongside the school's overall success, many students have achieved exceptional individual results, including:

  • Ethan, who secured A*’s in chemistry, further mathematics, mathematics & physics plus a distinction in mathematics AEA. Ethan has secured a place at Sheffield University to study medical engineering.
  • Amelia, who has achieved A* in mathematics and further mathematics, A in chemistry and physics. Amelia has secured a place at Southampton University to study mechanical engineering
  • Rauri, who has achieved excellent results - A* in mathematics and chemistry and A in physics and is expected to be going to Warwick University to study philosophy, politics and economics.
  • Lucia achieved A* in psychology, A in biology and economics. Lucia is expected to be having a gap year before joining Reading to study business and management marketing with a placement year.
  • Sophie who has achieved A* in sociology and business and an A in English literature. Sophie will be heading to Southampton University to study law.
  • Ivan has been awarded excellent grades – an A* in mathematics, an A in computer science and further mathematics. Ivan is expected to be joining UCL to study computer science.
  • Callum has achieved excellent results, achieving AAA in design and technology, mathematics and physics and will be commencing an apprenticeship.
  • Ifeoluwa has achieved AAA in chemistry, computer science and mathematics.
  • Temiloluwa has secured excellent results, achieving A in chemistry and mathematics and B in biology and further mathematics.
  • Freddie has picked up wonderful results - AAA in computer science, design and technology and mathematics. Freddie will be attending Nottingham University to study electronic and computer engineering with a year in industry.
  • Anjola has achieved excellent results, achieving AAA in art (graphics), chemistry and mathematics. Anjola has secured a place at Bath University to study structural and architectural engineering.
  • Harry has achieved A in history and religious studies and B in psychology. Harry has secured a place at the University of Kent to study military history.
  • Rose has achieved an A in law and sociology and B in politics. Rose has secured a place at Exeter University to study LLB law with professional placement.

Collecting her A-Level results today, Sophie said:
       
“I am really proud of my hard work and my results and I am now really excited to be taking the next step on my journey to Southampton to study Law. I’m really excited for the future and want to thank all the staff at Holcombe for all their support through my 6th form studies.”
