A-Level Results Day 2024

August 15, 2024 12:42pm

Celebrations all around as students at Holcombe Grammar School receive their A-Level results

Today, students and staff at Holcombe Grammar School located on Letchworth Avenue in Chatham, and part of Thinking Schools Academy Trust, are celebrating after receiving their A-Level grades.

This year, students at the Academy have excelled, achieving a year of good results following two years of dedication to their studies. Many students are now preparing to head on to the university, apprenticeship or job of their choice.

After two years of examinations where national grade boundaries were slightly lower (in recognition of the impact of the pandemic on children), this year has seen a return to the more demanding 2019 grade boundaries. Given this, we are pleased that our outcomes are very similar to 2019 with over 40% of grades at A*, A or B. We have seen especially strong outcomes in Business Studies, Finance and Social Science subjects with many striking individual results including:

  • Holly Hunt who achieved A*s in English Literature and Psychology and an A in History. She has secured a place at UCL to study Law
  • Pramath Kamblu who achieved A*s in Chemistry and Maths and an A in Biology. He has secured a place to study Medicine at Queen Mary’s London
  • Tanveer Singh who achieved A*s in Chemistry and Maths and an A in Biology. He has secured a place at Queen Mary’s London to study Dentistry
  • Ehsan Afzal who achieved A* in Maths and As in Computer Science, Further Maths and Physics. He has secured a place at Warwick to study Maths
  • Anna Krupka achieved A* in Polish and As in Business, Psychology and Spanish. She has secured a place at Bath to study International Management
  • Harrison Watson achieved A* in Business and As in Fine Art and English Language and Literature. He has secured a place to study Architecture at Manchester University
  • Raj Badyal achieved A* in Maths, As in Business and Further Maths and a B in Economics. He has secured a place to study Economics at Birmingham University
