GCSE Results Day 2025

We're pleased to share a year of strong and significantly improving results, which reflect the hard work of students across their subjects over the last two years. The percentage of grades at 7 and higher saw a 7% increase from 2024 and is the highest since 2017.

The Academy also saw particular success in subjects including:

  • Physics, where over 70% of students achieved a Grade 7 or higher, and over 20% of students achieved a Grade 9.
  • Religious Studies, where nearly 65% of grades were Grade 7 or higher, and over 15% were Grade 9.
  • Chemistry, where nearly 70% of grades were Grade 7 or higher, and 10% were a Grade 9.

While all students should be congratulated for their achievements, some individual performances particularly stood out:

  • Iyanuoluwa, who achieved a remarkable Grade 9 in all nine of his GCSEs, including English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Spanish and Religious Studies.
  • Tofunmi, who achieved Grade 9 in English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, History, Physics and Business and a Grade 8 in English Language.
  • Isaac, who achieved Grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, Biology, Physics and Grade 8 in Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Spanish and Psychology.
  • Carson, who achieved Grade 9 in Mathematics, French, Physics and Psychology and Grade 8 in Biology and Chemistry.
  • Alex, who achieved Grade 9 in Mathematics, Computer Science, French and Physics and Grade 8 in Biology, Chemistry, History and Spanish.
  • Maxime, who achieved Grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, Chemistry and Physics and Grade 8 in Biology, Geography and French.
  • Umamwosa, who achieved Grade 9 in English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics and a Grade 8 in Mathematics.
  • Harlem, who achieved Grade 9 in English Language, History and Combined Science and Grade 8 in English Literature and Mathematics.
  • Finn, who achieved Grade 9 in Mathematics and Combined Science and Grade 8 in English Language, English Literature and Sociology.
  • Gawat, who achieved Grade 9 in Combined Science and Religious Studies and Grade 8 in English Literature, Mathematics and History.
  • Ewan, who achieved Grade 9 in English Language, Business and Combined Science and a Grade 8 in History.

    

 

Collecting his GCSE results today, Iyanuoluwa said:

I am really pleased with my GCSE results and amazed that all are Grade 9s. Next year I am staying at Holcombe to study Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, and I am really looking forward to getting started with my A Levels.
