Year 7 Design and Technology pupils have been designing and prototyping designs for desk-tidies with the theme of skyscrapers.
Year 7 student Robert took this a few steps further by using his dad’s laser cutter to develop his model. He first designed and made his desk tidy using cardboard (as was expected of the year group). He then turned to CAD to draw out an accurate version of his design. Then using his CAD drawing laser cut a test of his model on cardboard, making adjustments to perfect the design and ensure that it worked as intended. Finally, after all imperfections were rectified, the laser cut on to 4mm plywood for a final product design. Incredible work!
