Once again, the Holcombe school hall was filled to capacity for the annual Junior Prize Giving Event. Students from Years 7 to 10 received accolades and prizes for academic progress and achievement from across all subject areas. Other awards included 100% attendance for the academic year, community contribution, promoting literacy and reading for pleasure, excellent contribution to the debate society and a range of other categories where students have gone above and beyond in their commitment to education and the Holcombe community.
Both the head boy and girl (Oskar Wrightson and Jemima Odom) addressed the prize winners with inspiring words and Mrs Diaz (Head Teacher) reminded us all of just how much had been achieved over the course of the year in and outside of the class room.
Heads of each house were in a position to introduce each winner with suitable warmth and acknowledgement. The 200 visiting parents were treated to musical interludes from a host of talented pianists before enjoying refreshments and extending further plaudits to students in the atrium.
